Meet Julia Yates - 2018 President

Julia Yates

President

2018 - 2019

Julia Yates is a sophomore at Anoka-Ramsey Community College Cambridge Campus. She is completing her AA in Communication and Psychology. She plans to be a transfer student in the fall of 2019. Julia is highly engaged on campus in multiple clubs and committees, including OER committee, Phi Theta Kappa, Student Senate, and Diversity committee. Julia is also an 11- year member of 4-H, finishing out her last year this fall. She has shown sheep, rabbits, poultry, and dogs at the county fair. In addition, she has served as a state 4-H ambassador, a delegate to the 2017 Presidential Inauguration, and served multiple roles in the Kanabec county 4-H program. Due to Julia’s active involvement in 4-H, she was eager to serve as Minn-Kota’s Regional President. She is passionate about team building, goal setting, and making our region the best that it can be. Her main goal for the region for this year is to create greater public awareness of Phi Theta Kappa programming and to strengthen the viability of PTK chapters in the Minn-Kota region. She is excited to work together with her fellow regional officers because she knows what group unity and effective teamwork can accomplish. We are PTK!

“He who does nothing renders himself incapable of doing anything; while we are executing any work, we are preparing and qualifying ourselves to undertake another.” -William Hazlitt
